![]() Wily unleashing his Robot Masters onto the world as some form of revenge. This circling of similar elemental references wasn’t the only thing being repeated. Heat Man, a boss from Mega Man 2, was susceptible to Bubble Man’s Bubble Lead weapon. In a majority of Mega Man games, it was easy to infer which bosses were weak against which weapon, based on the elemental affinities they were assigned to. However, after 28 years, this sixth entry should be held in high regard, especially since it brought twists and turns to the formula. So while Mega Man X saw major success on the Super Nintendo, Mega Man 6 fell a little flat and was perceived as the inferior product. The major generational leap that came afterwards was Mega Man X, which was also being created at the same time. Mega Man 6 was no different, and as the last game in the series to be released on the Nintendo Entertainment System, it was seen as a major bookend for the series. For six straight games, the team over at Capcom used this formula to great effect. These could be used on a subsequent boss, who was weak against said weapon. ![]() It was an easy concept to grasp for players, as each boss granted a weapon upon defeating it. ![]()
